Video, video, video, video, video, video, and…video!
It’s all the rage these days in terms of growing your social media following. Guru’s everywhere, law enforcement related or not, are selling/telling you how you need to be using it if you want to effectively pedal your brand and fill those Police Officer vacancies of yours. It’s a lot to take in, and with all the options that are available out there, it can be very confusing.
What would be great is, if someone made a quick guide to social media video, right?
OK, now that you know one of the reasons I created this guide...let me tell you about the other. For a few years now, one after another, I’ve seen police agencies spend a ton of money on professionally produced recruiting videos. Their hope was that candidates would take one look at them, say to themselves, ‘hey, that place looks good to me’, flood their inboxes with applications, and thereby solve their recruiting problems.
It all sounds great, and we’ll cover this a bunch inside this police marketing 101 guide, but many agencies found out that while recruiting videos look awesome, they’re not actually great at attracting applicants. This is because recruiting videos are cookie cutter in nature, far too long to watch, and are a one and done solution unless you want to fork over some more cash.
